How do I switch my dog's food to Just Right?

As with any new addition to your dog's diet, a slow transition to Just Right will help your dog avoid digestive upset.
We recommend making a gradual transition to Just Right over 7-10 days. Begin by adding a bit of the new blend to your dog's diet, and slowly introduce more each day. As you gradually replace their old food with their new Just Right blend, their system will have time to comfortably adjust. We recommend consulting your vet with specific questions about your dog's sensitivities, or if they experience stomach upset while transitioning to their new blend.

Does Just Right use grains? If so, why?

If you would like your dog to avoid grain in their diet, we can accommodate that preference! Simply let us know during your blend survey, and we will build their personalized dog food blend without grain.

Grain is one of the high-quality ingredients we use to build some personalized blends. Every ingredient we use to build your dog's personalized blend has a purpose, including grains. The carbohydrate, protein and other nutrients provided by grains add to both the nutritional value and structure of your dog's blend. Grains are rich sources of carbohydrates that supply your pet’s body with energy. Carbohydrates are useful in sparing protein from being used as an energy source. In other words, carbohydrates can be used to meet the body’s energy needs so that protein can be used for its most important function ― protein synthesis. Grains can provide antioxidants to help support immune health, and essential fatty acids to help support a healthy skin and coat. In addition, grains also contain fiber which helps support a healthy digestive system.

Can you build a personalized blend for my dog without grain?

Yes. If you would like your dog to avoid grain in their diet, we can accommodate that preference! We formulate most of our products with grains because they provide needed nutrients as part of a nutritionally complete and balanced diet. However, we recognize that you may desire a grain-free diet for your pets(s), so we do offer the option to exclude grains from your dogs’ personalized blend.

Our grain-free formulas contain alternative sources of carbohydrates, including cassava root flour and pea starch. Learn more about all of our Just Right ingredients, including grain-free carbohydrate sources, in our Ingredients section.

How do I know how much food to feed my pet?

Your dog's personalized feeding measurement can be found on the insert in each order of your dog's personalized blend. This feeding amount is how much kibble your dog should eat each day. Your dog's feeding amount is determined by our nutritionist, based on information you provide about your dog. We've included a scoop in your first delivery to make it easy to feed the right amount each day. Make sure to serve level scoops!

Are treats and wet food accounted for in the feeding instructions?

Treats have not been accounted for in your dog's personalized feeding instructions. To ensure you are not over/under feeding, please take any treats or toppers your dog eats (anything that isn't his or her Just Right formula) into account.

Do you have tips to transition my pet?

Although you'll be eager to see the difference Just Right can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to gradually transition from your dog’s current food. As with any new addition to your dog's diet, a slow transition to Just Right will help your dog avoid digestive upset.

Once your dog is transitioned to their Just Right blend, use the scoop provided with your welcome kit to serve the right amount of kibble. Make sure to serve level scoops!

How do I store Just Right?

We recommend keeping all unopened food in its sealed bag and storing it in a cool, dry place until it is ready to be used. After opening, use the zipper seal to keep your dog's kibble fresh between meals.
