As with any new addition to your dog's diet, a slow transition to Just Right will help your dog avoid digestive upset.
We recommend making a gradual transition to Just Right over 7-10 days. Begin by adding a bit of the new blend to your dog's diet, and slowly introduce more each day. As you gradually replace their old food with their new Just Right blend, their system will have time to comfortably adjust. We recommend consulting your vet with specific questions about your dog's sensitivities, or if they experience stomach upset while transitioning to their new blend.
If you have more questions about transitioning your dog to their Just Right blend, please reach out to our Customer Care Team on the Contact Us page.
If you would like your dog to avoid grain in their diet, we can accommodate that preference! Simply let us know during your blend survey, and we will build their personalized dog food blend without grain.
Grain is one of the high-quality ingredients we use to build some personalized blends. Every ingredient we use to build your dog's personalized blend has a purpose, including grains. The carbohydrate, protein and other nutrients provided by grains add to both the nutritional value and structure of your dog's blend. Grains are rich sources of carbohydrates that supply your pet’s body with energy. Carbohydrates are useful in sparing protein from being used as an energy source. In other words, carbohydrates can be used to meet the body’s energy needs so that protein can be used for its most important function ― protein synthesis. Grains can provide antioxidants to help support immune health, and essential fatty acids to help support a healthy skin and coat. In addition, grains also contain fiber which helps support a healthy digestive system.
Your dog's personalized feeding measurement can be found on the insert in each order of your dog's personalized blend. This feeding amount is how much kibble your dog should eat each day. Your dog's feeding amount is determined by our nutritionist, based on information you provide about your dog. We've included a scoop in your first delivery to make it easy to feed the right amount each day. Make sure to serve level scoops!

Yes. If you would like your dog to avoid grain in their diet, we can accommodate that preference! We formulate most of our products with grains because they provide needed nutrients as part of a nutritionally complete and balanced diet. However, we recognize that you may desire a grain-free diet for your pets(s), so we do offer the option to exclude grains from your dogs’ personalized blend.
Our grain-free formulas contain alternative sources of carbohydrates, including cassava root flour and pea starch. Learn more about all of our Just Right ingredients, including grain-free carbohydrate sources, in our Ingredients section.

A great place to start is by building a tasty Just Right blend through our 5-minute quiz. Your dog’s blend is personalized with their preferred ingredients, ideal kibble size, and custom feeding plan. Give your dog time to adjust to their new food. Their pickiness may just be related to unfamiliarity!
Try these tips if your dog is a picky eater:
- Keep treats to a minimum – Your dog is a good dog! But treats should only account for 10% of your dog’s daily calories. Otherwise, they may lose interest in their food. Talk to your veterinarian if you need further guidance.
- Explore new textures – Your dog may prefer a softer food or a different kibble size. Try softening their kibble by adding a little water or build a blend with a kibble size or texture that differs from their current Just Right blend.
- Make meals fun – Try a puzzle feeder to get your dog engaged in their meal.
If your dog isn’t eating, or you’ve noticed changes in their appetite, consult your vet.
For over 100 years, the Good Housekeeping Institute has been rigorously testing and evaluating products for quality—so consumers can make smart purchase decisions. We’re happy to say that Just Right has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.
Treats have not been accounted for in your dog's personalized feeding instructions. To ensure you are not over/under feeding, please take any treats or toppers your dog eats (anything that isn't his or her Just Right formula) into account.
Although you'll be eager to see the difference Just Right can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to gradually transition from your dog’s current food. As with any new addition to your dog's diet, a slow transition to Just Right will help your dog avoid digestive upset.
Once your dog is transitioned to their Just Right blend, use the scoop provided with your welcome kit to serve the right amount of kibble. Make sure to serve level scoops!

We recommend keeping all unopened food in its sealed bag and storing it in a cool, dry place until it is ready to be used. After opening, use the zipper seal to keep your dog's kibble fresh between meals.
Let’s get to the meat of the issue: We follow very strict industry standards when creating your dog’s food. Real meat is always the #1 ingredient in your dog’s blend.
- Animal by-products are a quality source of essential protein, vitamins and minerals.
- The animal by-products in Just Right, which include liver, kidneys and other clean organs, are often parts of an animal that dogs would eat in the wild.
- By using animal by-products in Just Right we’re keeping safe, nutritious ingredients that aren’t popular for human consumption from going to waste.
